Niagara Heritage Quilters' Guild
Scholarship Award

The Niagara Heritage Quilters' Guild Scholarship is awarded annually. This Scholarship was created to promote interest in the Fine Arts, Art History, Visual Arts or Design with an interest in textile/fibre arts as a career/lifestyle.

Past recipients are:

Fifth Year - 2015-16 - Kathryn Ruzycki of Port Colborne is the 2016 recipient of the Niagara Heritage Quilters' Guild Scholarship Award. Kathryn graduated from Lakeshore Catholic High School and is now attending classes at the University of Guelph. Kathryn is pursuing a double major in Studio Art/History. She is also the granddaughter of one of our members, Natalie Benner. We wish Kathryn all the very best for the future.

Fourth Year - 2014-15 - Karoline Mazzarella - Laura Secord High School. Karoline will be attending Ryerson University.

Third year - 2013-14 - Annie Dewar - Denis Moris High School. She will be attending Ryerson in the fall. Annie received her scholarship award at her graduation, presented by former principal, Glen Gifford.

Second Year - 2012-13 - Breana Poirier - Notre Dame College School in Welland. Breana will be attending Sheridan College. Nina Stahlschmidt is presenting the Scholarship at Breana's graduation.

First Year - 2011-12 - Alexa Jovanovic of St. Paul HS, in Niagara Falls. Alexa will be attending Ryerson University. Alexa is shown with Marilyn Michelin.
